James X Wedding Photography is a small Vancouver-based photography business. I collect only what I need to reply to you and to deliver your photographs. I do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. Where advertising measurement is involved, you decide whether it happens at all — and you can change that choice whenever you like.
This site uses the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure whether my Facebook and Instagram advertising leads to visits, package-page views and enquiries.
The Meta Pixel is active on this site, but the Meta code is not loaded, and no request is made to Meta, until you press Accept on the consent banner. If you decline, nothing from Meta is loaded, no Meta cookies are set, and no events are sent. If you close the banner without choosing, the same applies — the pixel stays off. Meta may place cookies and process data in the United States and other countries when it is enabled.
The events I send are standard Meta events: page views, package views, button clicks, and a single "enquiry sent" event when the contact form is submitted successfully. I do not send your name, email address, or anything you write in the form to Meta.
Google Analytics is used to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is loaded on every page. If you decline the advertising banner, Google Analytics still runs — it is a separate, non-advertising measurement tool and it does not build an advertising profile of you.
You can accept or decline at any time. Click at the bottom of any page to reopen the banner. Choosing Decline stops the Meta Pixel from loading; choosing Accept loads it again. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. If I ever change the Meta Pixel, your previous choice does not carry over to the new one and you will be asked again.
Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to reply to you and to keep a record of the booking. If we photograph your wedding, your details are kept for the life of the business so I can deliver your gallery. Consent records are kept for six months, after which I ask again.
Under PIPEDA (British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act) and Canada's privacy principles, you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. To make that request, email [email protected] or call 778-990-5608. I will respond within 30 days.
